As a health care facility, we have an obligation to serve our patients while at the same time do our best to limit the spread of this highly contagious disease. We have already instituted internal policies to limit patient and staff exposure to COVID-19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing our already rigorous cleaning and sanitization protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Additional hands-free sanitization stations throughout our practice.<\/li>\n<li>Closely monitoring the health and well-being of our staff and providers.<\/li>\n<li>Working with the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and other government officials (NYS DOH) to follow recommended guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Continuously monitoring the situation and implementing additional measures as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To reduce your risk of any infection, we recommend the same precautions as those for avoiding the common cold and flu:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes,\u00a0nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Physical (social) distancing of 6 feet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you recently traveled to China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, NYC or Europe and have a fever and cough or shortness of breath:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seek medical care right away. Before you go to a doctor\u2019s office or emergency room, call ahead and tell them about your recent travel and symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>After you have been seen by a medical provider, stay home and avoid contact with others until you are well.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid travel on public transportation (such as bus, train,\u00a0subway, metro,\u00a0or airplane).<\/li>\n<li>Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.<\/li>\n<li>Wash hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
